FAQ

  • A membership fee is mandatory if you want to become a member of Alhidaya Croydon. The fee is £10 per month as a minimum, and to be paid every year to renew the membership. This fee can be paid as a one-off at the time of renewal or it can be paid every month. Non-payment of the membership fee will lead to the cancellation of membership which means you will not be able to participate in the AGM and vote. The subscription on the other hand is a donation to the masjid. This can be paid for by both Members and Friends of Alhidaya. Subscription is a voluntary contribution.

  • f your membership application is not accepted by Alhidaya as per the terms and conditions, paying the fee will not be necessary. However, you can convert your payment to Alhidaya as a donation towards the masjid funds.

  • Yes, each member who is over 18 years old, need to pay to become an eligible member. Please consider the fact that participation in AGM and voting is not for a family but for individual members.

  • Yes, your membership will expire. Please apply on our website, expect a confirmation email that your request is accepted and start making the payment.

  • At present membership is accepted from male members only.

  • If a member does not follow the terms and conditions after becoming a member and breached the conditions, Alhidaya management will follow a set process to consult and inform the member of his breach of terms. If at the end of this consultation process, if the management finds the member does not fit to continue as member, his membership will be terminated. He will also be placed on a ‘Exclusion List’. A member in the ‘Exclusion List’ cannot apply to become a member until this exclusion is removed.

  • After a member has been entered into the ‘Exclusion List’ if the member creates more nuisance in the sacred place of the masjid and attempt to create disruptions to the Salah or events or meetings at Alhidaya Masjid, this ‘excluded member’ will further be placed on ‘Exclusion from Premises’ list. Persons who are in this list are barred from entering the Alhidaya premises and not allowed to participate in events and meetings conducted by Alhidaya.
