Soup Kitchen at Alhidaya

It is more than two years now that we have started our journey providing hot soup, fresh bread, canned food and other food items every Saturday at Alhidaya. Many collaborate and also compete to cook soup in their homes, more and more members are volunteering to offer hot food via this kitchen. Alhamdu lillah, more than 50 families are benefitting from this initiative every week and we use this opportunity to work with retail stores such as Morrison and Tesco to get their free packed foods and offer it to the general public via this facility. Every initiative counts!!!

Eidi - Their happiness knew no bounds....

Our students are our fruits and our pride. We wish them success in this world and hereafter. We do our best to benefit them and bring happiness into their hearts. Our annual feast (Eid gift) for this year is £10 per student. Having been only on zoom lessons for more than a year, their happiness knew no bounds when they had to visit Alhidaya and also receive their ‘eidi gifts’ from their teachers.

We are proud of our teachers. we care about them and their development. We care about their opinions and suggestions. We meet with them on a monthly basis. Our gift this year to all of them is a “tablet” to enable them continue the online lessons and teaching more effectively.

Inspire and inspired

As we travel along the journey of your own, we inspire and inspired by others - be it sports, education, charity, an enthusiastic event, life style, motivating actions or simply a person. In a small town where we grew up, masjid had the capacity of 1000 but for the morning prayers (fajr), we used to have just one row of attendees. I had the dua of all the elders who would see me every single day for Fajr salah during my secondary schooling. When Afzal Zakir (below) was congratulated for not missing Fajr salah every day this Ramadan 2021, we inspire and inspired by him… May Almighty bless him.

After 5 years - We remember and reminded of our goals.....

In 2016 when Alhidaya masjid was opened, we set ourselves a simple goal of bringing the communities together. It has not been an easy journey with everyone to look after their day job and to spare their most precious evenings and weekends. We have calculated an effort of 10 management years and more than 500 volunteers days minimum to reach a stage in our journey at Alhidaya. It is a pleasure to share what we have recorded back in 2016.

End with Musk

As they say in Arabic “End with Musk”, Qari Muatazz Elghannam lead Qiyam at Alhidaya today. No words to describe the depth of his recitations today. Pleasure to add his Fajr Salah recitations below. Jazakallah Qari Muatazz.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Shaik Mahmood Madani at Alhidaya (9th May)

It was a pleasure to have Shaik Mahmood Madani to lead our Taraweeh and Qiyam again on the 28th Night of Ramadan. I wanted to describe the emotions in a way how a commoner would follow the recitations. Shaik Mahmood takes a very deep breadth, balances his heart and mind, 100% modularises his delivery of aya thereby removing any vibration whatsoever from the recitations. Every second of his recitation is kept at the same level - Masha Allah that needs an enormous focus on the recitor part and enables greater focus on the prayer on the musallees part. We thank him for travelling to Alhidaya, Jazakallah khayran.
